Role of lubricant and test temperature for EHD friction reduction by employ-ing DLC coatings
In this study three different DLC coatings (F-DLC and a-C:H with two thicknesses, i.e. 1 µm and 6 µm) were tested in self-mated EHD contacts lubricated with three distinictively different base oils (polyalpholefin - PAO, oil-soluble polyalkyleneglycol - OsPAG and water-soluble polyglycol - WsPG) at two different temperatures (25 °C and 100 °C) and compared to conventional steel/steel contact.
